Sucat and Bicutan toll gates to be exclusive to RFID users soon? Muntinlupa Rep. says wait a minute

Several readers have messaged us about this sign they’ve been seeing by the Sucat and Bicutan toll gates.

Apparently, the sign is saying that both toll gates (and God knows what other toll gates) will be exclusive to RFID users only SOON.

We are not sure if this goes for both Skyway and SLEX.

If this will be the case, then non-RFID users will need to exit all the way to Alabang (assuming this particular toll gate will be open to cash payers).

A lot of motorists were up in arms about the move while some expressed support over the measure.

“RFID devices are available to all and motorists just need to apply for it. This is a solution to ease the traffic in Metro south,” expressed Froi Castelo.

Upon being tagged by several Muntinlupa residents, Muntinlup Rep. Ruffy Biazon immediately gave a statement.

In his tweet addressing the issue, Biazon said:

We sent an email inquiry to representatives of San Miguel Corporation, the company who operates both Skyway and SLEX, but just received the complementary return email.

We will update this post (or post a new article) once they reply to us.

We will also update everyone on how the talk between Rep. Biazon and the operators goes.

Please feel free to let us know your thoughts about this issue.
